Detroit (Reclaim Pending ... Detroit is on a 14 day hold) - Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler Dog for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Detroit is a handsome adult male Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler who was brought to the HSOV on July 13, 2026 by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden who picked him up on State Route 60 in the Beverly Ohio area. Detroit was not wearing a collar, so there was neither an ID tag nor a dog license tag .. And he was not microchipped.

This gorgeous guy has a black-and-white medium haired coat, a long bushy tail, and a beautiful face with dark brown eyes, a black patch on the left side of his face, and short floppy ears.

These outdoor photos of Detroit were taken late in the afternoon on July 14th when HSOV Volunteer Jennie Payton Sherrard spent time with Detroit in the shaded grassy area in front of our shelter. Detroit has a very friendly/easygoing personality and was quite the gentleman while he posed for Petfinder/Facebook/Adoptapet pictures.

Detroit is a big boy who weighs perhaps 65-70 lbs and walked gently on a leash for Jennie.

Update: Since Detroit's owner has been identified, Detroit will be held for 14-days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him.
