DESCRIPTION
Sierra is a beautiful 10-year old female Tuxedo kitty who was brought to the HSOV on October 8, 2025 by a Good Samaritan who found her near the Dollar General store in Reno Ohio. Sierra had been fending for herself and relied upon the kindness of good people for food/water in order to survive. She certainly had the appearance of falling on bad times when we first met Sierra, and we were determined to make her life good again
Sierra is one of our most senior feline residents (in length of time with us and also her chronological age), and she is dearly loved by our kennel techs Sierra is a special senior with a few special needs since she was missing several of her teeth when she arrived at HSOV, and she had an issue with her left eye. Our compassionate kennel techs and one of our wonderful local veterinarians have taken Sierra under their angel wings, and she has received excellent medical care along with daily doses of TLC
Sierra has a black-and-white short/medium-haired coat in a tuxedo pattern, a long tail, and a beautifully-marked face with golden eyes, a cute black splotch on her nose with white markings on each side of her muzzle, and extra-long white whiskers
Sierra was given vaccinations, flea treatment, and Drontal dewormer on October 12, 2025. She weighed just 6.1 lbs that day. Sierra was given booster vaccines on October 28, 2025. She was given rabies vaccine on December 18, 2025 and weighed 7 lbs.
Sierra has been pampered and loved from Day One by our HSOV kennel techs have taken amazing care of her (administering numerous antibiotics and serving up her favorite wet foods since Sierra was missing most of her teeth when she came to our shelter).
After Sierra began to feel better, she has given free-roaming privileges for out-of-cage freedom which she loves!!
These updated photos of Sierra were taken on June 3rd 2026 when HSOV Kennel Tech @Avah Day lovingly carried Sierra in her arms to the lobby so that Sierra could pose for glamour pictures on a comfy sofa in the shelter lobby
Sierras left eye was surgically removed in May 2026, and she is now ready to find a fabulous home where she can spend her golden retirement years enjoying her favorite soft wet food, toy mice to play with, and the freedom of a real home ... And thanks to one of our HSOV volunteers, Sierra will go home with a gift basket filled with her favorite things
