Skittles - Beagle Dog for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Skittles is a cute 3-year old female Beagle who was brought to the HSOV on July 5, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found her on State Route 555 in the Cutler Ohio area on July 1st. That kind gentleman kept Skittles safe and tried in vain to locate her owner before bringing her to our shelter. Skittles was not wearing any form of identification, and she was not microchipped.

This little sweetheart has a tricolor short-haired coat in the traditional clan colors of her noble breed, a long tail, and a beautiful face with hopeful innocent eyes, a slender muzzle, and large floppy ears.

These photos were taken on July 5th when HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn Moore spent quality time with Skittles for her outdoor glamour pictures. True to her Beagle genes, Skittles was happy to be running through the green grass with her nose to the ground and as a delight to photograph.

Skittles has a super friendly disposition but was understandably a bit nervous about being in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs nearby and people that she did not know.

Skittles is a tiny petite young lady who weighs just 17.2 lbs. She doesn't appear to have had much walking-on-a-leash experience.

Skittles loved being held in Tracy's arms when she picked Skittles up and carried her back to her floor crate .. And she even waved one of her cute front paws at our Beagle-loving photographer.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Skittles was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. Sadly, nobody has called or came looking for her as of July 9th.
