Joey (Photos May-June 2026) - Tabby and Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Joey is a cute male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on April 4, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him and his four siblings on Archers Fork Road in the Newport Ohio area. Joey and his siblings were tiny 3-week old babies at that time and desperately needed medical attention.

Thankfully they were placed in the loving care of some earthly angels (our compassionate HSOV kennel techs/staff) who bottle-fed them and spent many hours caring for the kittens and giving them their best chance of survival. Three of the kittens survived (Joey, Kyle and Pip). Two others passed away but surely knew that they were loved and that their short lives mattered.

Joey has a uniquely patterned brown tabby-and-white shorthaired coat, a long tail, and an adorable tabby/white face with golden eyes, tan ears, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers His coat has the appearance of a baby squirrel or a wild bunny.

Kitten Joey was the largest of the boys, and he was placed with a nursing mother kitty (Princess Havarti) who accepted Joey as her own along with an orphaned female kitten (Combos) . Combos had an adoptive 'dad' who waited for three months in order to adopt Combos after she was spayed (another happily-ever-after story).

Joey and his two biological brothers (Kyle and Pip) were eventually reunited thanks to the excellent care Kyle and Pip were given by our HSOV kennel techs. These boys are like 'The Three Musketeers' (one for all and all for one) and are currently sharing a double-wide cage in our Jungle Room. Each of the boys have a lovable, fun-loving personality and spend their time romping/playing with each other. They seem to have competitions to see who can jump/run the fastest through the portal which connects the two cages

Joey was given vaccinations on June 7th 2026 and was given booster vaccines on June 27th 2026. Joey weighed 3.4 lbs on June 27th.

Joey will be neutered in the near future (tentatively on July 6th 2026) and will soon be ready to find his dream home.

Naturally he would love to have a playmate to share that home with and, of course, Kyle and Pip would be ready, willing and able to join him .. But their neuter procedures may not be scheduled until early August.
