Huckleberry (Photos May-June 2026) - Tabby and Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Huckleberry is a cute male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on March 30, 2026 along with his five siblings (Blackberry, Blueberry, Gooseberry and Raspberry). These tiny one-week old newborn babies were found on Paw Paw Road in the Lower Salem Ohio with no mother in sight.

Thankfully two of the amazing mother cats who were in our shelter at that time raising their biological kittens accepted these five orphaned babies and literally saved their lives.

Huckleberry and his sister Blueberry were raised by Mama Bear, and in their eyes, she was their real mother.

Their three siblings were raised by Mama Cubby along with her biological kittens and, happily, this little family was accepted by a wonderful rescue group on April 9th.

Huckleberry has an orange shorthaired coat in a marbled tabby pattern, a long ringed tail, and an adorable (rather mischievous-looking) face with large golden eyes, a pink nose, a dusting of white on his muzzle, and long white whiskers.

Huckleberry and Blueberry have remained together after they were fully weaned, so naturally we'd love to see them adopted together since they are best friends who have never been separated since birth. They are a perfect pair and complement each other .. Blueberry is the quiet, well-behaved little sister while Huckleberry is the super playful, outgoing big brother.

Huckleberry and Blueberry will be neutered/spayed in the near future (tentatively on July 6th 2026) and will soon be ready to find a forever home.
