Betty (Photos July 10th 2026) - Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Betty is a beautiful 2-year old female Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the HSOV on June 29th 2026 along with her good-looking companion (Barney). A Good Samaritan had found them on County House Lane in the Marietta Ohio area a few days earlier and kept them safe in his garage while he tried to locate their owner.

Betty has a sleek black coat with a narrow black/white vertical stripe on her chest, a long tail, and an adorable face with rather sad-looking eyes, a black button nose, and floppy ears.

These pictures of Betty were taken on the afternoon of July 10th when HSOV Kennel Tech Liz Stingley spent time with Betty for her outdoor glamour/Petfinder photos. Betty has a friendly, rather demure, personality. She looked to Liz for guidance and reassurance.

Betty weighs 40 lbs and walked gently on a leash with Liz by her side.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Betty (and Barney) were held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that their family would have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership. Sadly, nobody has called or came looking for them as of July 12th 2026.
