McGruff (Photos September 17th 2026) - Terrier Dog for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

McGruff is a cute 5-year old male Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on September 13th 2026 after he was found on State Route 339 in the Belpre Ohio area along with his companion/housemate (McCallister). Neither of the boys were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped.

McGruff has a black-and-tan mediumhaired/wiry coat, short bowed front legs, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a tan mask, bushy eyebrows, scruffy whiskers, a slender muzzle, and short 'horizontal' ears.

This little guy has a sweet, outgoing personality and loves attention.

These photos of McGruff were taken on the afternoon of September 17th when HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn Moore spent time with him for outdoor pictures. McGruff was much too busy scampering around in the green grass to pose for boring still-life photos, so most of his pictures were 'action shots' (smile).

McGruff is a petite boy who weighs 20 lbs.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, McGruff was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Sadly, nobody called or came looking for McGruff or McCallister .. So we will have them neutered and do our best to find them a fabulous home.
