Maple (Empty-Nester) (Photos September 4th 2026) - Tortoiseshell and Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Maple is a lovely 2-year old female Tortoiseshell kitty who arrived at HSOV on July 26th 2026 along with her four 4-month old kittens (Bacon, Bagel, Pancake and Waffle) Unfortunately the individual(s) who entrusted them to our care did not provide any information about them.

Maple has a beautiful brown/black/orange shorthaired coat in a Tortoiseshell pattern, a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a patch of orange above her left eye, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers.

Maple has a sweet, gentle disposition and a quiet, easygoing personality. She is good with other cats and also with children.

Maple was given vaccinations and Pyrtantel dewormer on July 26th. She weighed 7.6 lbs that day. Maple was given booster vaccines August 15th 2026.

Maple was separated recently from her kittens since they were fully weaned. So mother Maple is enjoying some quiet, peaceful relaxation while resting on her laurels after being the most perfect momma to her youngsters.

Her female kittens (Bacon, Pancake, and Waffle) are currently enjoying their own 'apartment' (a double-wide cage in The Jungle Room). Her male kitten (Bagel) has an approved adoption pending and is enjoying a temporary home with his new family while he awaits his neuter procedure.

These photos of Maple were taken late in the afternoon on September 4th 2026 while she posed like a professional kitty model in our 'studio'. Maple was content to snuggle in our volunteer photographer's arms to/from the studio (i.e., the shelter bathroom) and, needless to say, she had fallen in love with Maple in a New York minute (smile). This little beauty was a delight to photograph and to watch while she enjoyed her out-of-cage time.

Maple will be spayed in the near future (tentatively on September 14th) and will soon be ready to find a fabulous home. We're sure that her kittens will be adopted quickly, but please remember that their beautiful mother who gave them life and raised them to be happy socialized youngsters also deserves the best home ever.
