These beautiful girls (Pie & Saline) were brought to our shelter in the Spring of 2026 (separately) with heartbreaking stories. Pie (a brown tabby) was 6-month old (and merely a kitten herself) who gave birth to four kittens shortly after her arrival. None of her kittens survived Saline (a gray tabby/white) was 5-years old and had been in her home since she was a 4-week old kitten. Her owner moved out of state and Saline was too nervous to ride in a car to travel to the new home.
Pie was brought to the HSOV on April 15, 2026 after she was found fending her herself in Marietta Ohio. Pie was visibly pregnant when she entered our shelter and gave birth to two tiny kittens soon after her arrival. Sadly, neither of her first-born babies survived and passed away shortly after birth. Pie gave birth to two more kittens (Pinky & Discord) a week or so later .. Neither of those kittens survived and both had passed away by April 28th.
Pie has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and a pretty face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, a splash of white on her muzzle, and extra-long white whiskers.
Pie was understandably depressed after the loss of her kittens. Our HSOV kennel techs did their best to console her and gave her extra attention in hopes that she would know that she was loved and that someone truly cared about her.
Pie was spayed on May 4th and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 7.1 lbs that day.
Pie has a sweet, rather shy, personality. She is good with other cats, but we don't know yet how she feels about children and dogs.
Saline is a beautiful 4-year 10-month old female Tabby/Tuxedo kitty who was surrendered by her owner on March 19, 2026 because he was moving out-of-state and Saline was not able to handle the move since she is very nervous riding in a car. Her owner even had to give her medication to help her endure the short ride back to our shelter.
Saline originally came to our shelter in June 2021 when she was a tiny 4-week old kitten. She was fostered by her adoptive owner and grew up in a loving home. Saline was spayed on October 10, 2022 and was officially adopted by her foster family in December 2022.
Saline has a gray tabby short-haired coat with white markings on her chest/paws in a tuxedo pattern , a long tail, and an adorable chubby face with golden eyes, a splash of white on her muzzle, and long white whiskers.
This little sweetheart is good with other cats but is not good with dogs .. And Saline actually "needs" other cats in her life as companions. Saline is looking for a compassionate family or individual who would understand what it's like to be a nervous little girl who needs extra TLC and would give her time to adjust to a new home.
Saline is a quiet/docile kitty who needs another kitty companion as a soulmate. She can't understand why anyone (cats or people) would not be kind to her.
We hope that a kind-hearted family or individual will consider adopting Saline and her best friend/soulmate Pie together.
Pie and Saline are quiet/rather shy and docile., and they each needed a companion. They were placed together in a large cat tower and quickly bonded with each other .. Pie and Saline have become soulmates and dearly love each other They snuggle up close to one another, and Pie is often seen grooming Saline. Saline loves to be petted and will gently touch you with her paw to politely ask for more petting.
Pie and Saline would be ever so thankful to find a home together with a special someone who would give the time to acclimate to their new home. They are ready to find a quiet home with someone who will love them and will always take care of them.
Pie and Saline are being listed as a bonded pair since we feel that it is in their best interest to be adopted together.
