Meet King
King is a 3 year-old, 71 pound German Shepherd who is looking for a soft place to land after his owner sadly passed away. With no family able to take him in, he's currently being boarded while we search for a foster or forever home.
King is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves attention and being around his people. He can get a little excited and may jump up when he's happy to see you, but he kennels beautifully and has been such a good boy while in boarding. King is also dog friendly.
He has spent essentially his entire life alongside his brother, Midnight, and the two boys share a very special bond. If the perfect family came along who could open their home to both of them, we would absolutely love to see King and Midnight stay together. However, we know finding a home for two large dogs isn't always possible, and they can be separated.
King is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, dog friendly, and kennel trained.
We're still learning more about King, but what we already know is that he's a sweet boy who has been through a big change and deserves the comfort of a home again. Whether that's alongside Midnight or on his own, we'd love to get King out of boarding and into a soft place to land.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:
https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt
Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
