Meet Smiley: a three-year-old pit bull mix who carries himself with a completely goofy, lighthearted personality.

He is a joyful cuddle bug, a dedicated fifty-pound tennis ball enthusiast, and a sweet companion who loves resting his heavy head right on your lap.

Smiley was found as a stray inside a trap meant for a wild animal, having successfully used his nose to follow a snack and completely hijack a raccoon's dinner plan. Despite this slightly embarrassing rescue, his spirit remains completely unbroken.

Smiley has a charming, signature head tilt that comes out whenever he hears the call of playtime, making his silly side shine even brighter. He is very focused on his toys and can be a bit territorial with his personal collection, but he easily makes up for it with his immense capacity for affection.

This gentle boy gets along wonderfully with other dogs, viewing them as true companions, and he is peaceful around cats. He loves cuddling up with his foster brothers and hanging out with his people. True to his namesake, Smiley is in a perpetual state of grinning and pure happiness. He is ready to find a forever home where he can curl up on the couch and conquer your heart.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
