🇺🇸
New Orleans, Louisiana

DESCRIPTION

Meet Professor Milo Thatch, the ultimate 2-year-old local expedition leader, certified swamp cartographer, and card-carrying member of the high-energy club! Weighing in at a solid 40pounds, just like his cinematic namesake, this scruffy little dark-coated terrier mix has a wonderfully chaotic mop of hair, a brilliant mind for uncovering hidden treasures-mostly slimy sticks and suspiciously shaped leaves-and an absolute refusal to stand still. After trading a rural shelter for the good life in a foster home, Milo has been sprinting at Mach 5 ever since and is now ready to map his way straight to a forever home! Whether he is charting out every single lizard hideout in the yard, leaping over obstacles like an off-road swamp buggy, or performing his signature dramatic routine because dinner is thirty seconds late, this boy is pure, unadulterated joy. He is wonderful with other dogs and kids alike, bringing that classic wire-haired terrier spunk mixed with a deeply goofy soul to the whole crew. He's the kind of dog who will enthusiastically help you dig a hole, track down a lost sock, and then demand to curl up on your lap like a very dusty, very loved potato. Best of all? He is completely heartworm negative, and he will come fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered so he is all set for his next big expedition. If your household is missing a heavy dose of high-voltage energy, swamp-dog resilience, and certified academic charm, Professor Milo Thatch is ready to pack his tiny bags and map his way straight to your couch!

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.

***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures.
