Shoobie (Benefactor Dog) - Poodle and Schnauzer Dog for Adoption in New Orleans, Louisiana

Meet Shoobie, a two-year-old Schnoodle weighing in at a very manageable 13 pounds, whose journey started like a classic country song when he was found wandering around a truck stop a few months ago. Some kind-hearted local truckers took him in, but their resident pets firmly voted against expanding the crew, so now this fluffy little guy is looking for a forever home where he can truly belong. One look at him and you are going to be wanting to Shoobie Doobie Doo right into his heart! Shoobie is a professional couch potato who loves to just lounge around, but if you get him going, his zoomies are delightfully unhinged. He is crate trained, loves riding shotgun in the car, and is a stellar watchdog who takes his job very seriously, barking if he hears something or doesn't recognize his people. He is also very vocal, meaning if you hold him and talk to him, he will talk right back to you for some lively household discussions. While he is a great co-pilot, a word of warning to future owners: if you leave him home alone, he has a tendency to drag things out and go pilfering, treating a tidy house more like a suggestion than a rule. As for his potty habits, he will let you know when he needs to go out, though if you aren't paying attention, he might still have the occasional accident. Shoobie will come fully prepped for his next adventure with up-to-date vaccinations, a microchip, a negative heartworm test, and will be neutered prior to adoption. If you are ready for a talkative, truck-stop-surviving, zoomie-loving sidekick to complete your crew, Shoobie is ready to sing his way into your life!

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
