Meet Skipper

Skipper is a 7-month-old, 19-pound female Catahoula who appears to have misunderstood several basic principles of terrestrial locomotion.

She does not walk.

She gallops.

Occasionally she launches herself through the air with such conviction that one begins to suspect a distant genealogical connection to Rudolph. There are moments when all four feet seem to have collectively resigned from the ground. It is ridiculous. It is athletic. It is extremely Skipper.

She is playful, energetic, dog friendly, potty trained, crate trained, and currently working on gaining a little weight, a project she is approaching with the same enthusiasm she brings to nearly everything else.

For all the aerial nonsense, Skipper is also an enormous cuddlebug. She is sweet, loving, affectionate, charming, and somehow manages to be both a tiny horse and a soft little baby depending on the hour.

She loves to run, loves to play, loves being close to her people, and has the kind of personality that makes ordinary moments considerably more entertaining.

Skipper is basically 19 pounds of velocity, sweetness, and poorly supervised aviation.

And somehow, it works beautifully.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
