Hyper (Photos September 27th 2026) - German Shepherd Dog Dog for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Hyper is a beautiful one-year old female German Shepherd mix who was brought to the HSOV on September 25th 2026 by Good Samaritans who found her on State Route 821 in the Lower Salem, Ohio area. Hyper was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped.

This gorgeous girl has a black-and-tan coat, a long tail, and an adorable German Shepherd face with brown eyes, a tan mask, a slender muzzle, and large erect ears. Her left ear has a slight semi-erect appearance.

Hyper has a happy outgoing personality. Hyper is a bit of a "Houdini" since she is an accomplished escape artist when it comes to figuring out how to free herself from a floor crate .. And obviously quite intelligent (smile).

These photos of Hyper were taken on September 27th 2026 when, much to her delight, HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos slipped a leash around Hyper's neck and accompanied her for an adventure in our photo area. Hyper was full of playful energy and paused occasionally for glamour pictures. She was curious about cars driving into the parking lot, watching volunteers walking dogs in distance, and watching several of our outdoor shelter mascot kitties nearby. Hyper seemed a little too interested in the cats but, of course, we don't know what her motive might have been.

Hyper weighs 49 lbs and was fairly strong on a leash. Angel discovered that Hyper will 'sit pretty' after she expends some youthful energy and begins to relax.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Hyper will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that her family will have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership.
