Rain (Empty-Nester) (Photos August 27th 2026) - Calico and Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Rain is a lovely female kitty who was surrendered by her owner on June 3rd 2026 along with her five 5-week old kittens (Foggy, Lightning, Snow, Thunder, and Windy) and Rain's sister (Derecho).

Rain has a brown/orange/white short-haired coat in a calico pattern, a long ringed tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers.

Rain was a wonderful loving mother to her five babies, and she raised four of her babies to be happy, socialized kittens. Sadly, kitten Windy (who was the smallest of the siblings) did not survive and passed away on June 18th.

Her kittens were separated from Rain in early August after they were fully weaned, and they have been enjoying a double-wide cage where they engage in silly kitten games and snuggle up for long afternoon naps... And momma Rain is also enjoying some much-needed 'rest and relaxation' time in an adjacent cage.

This little dollbaby has the sweetest, most lovable disposition and is 'purrfect' in our eyes/opinion.

Rain was given vaccinations and Pyrantal dewormer on July 11th 2026. She was given booster vaccines on July 1st 2026. Rain is a petite little lady who weighed 6 lbs when she entered our shelter on June 3rd.

These glamour photos of Rain were taken on August 27th when our volunteer photographer spent time with her in our 'studio' (and fell even more in love with this sweet girl 'up close and personal' instead of in her cage). Rain was a delight to watch (and love on) while she strolled around the photo props and came to the front of the counter to politely ask for attention. Whoever adopts Rain will surely have the most loving companion ever to share their life with.

We've learned that Rain is ok with smaller dogs who are cat friendly, and she is good with other cats and children as well.

Rain will be spayed in the near future (tentatively on September 14th 2026) and will soon be ready to find a loving home.

We're sure that her cute kittens will be adopted quickly but please remember that their beautiful mother who gave them life and lovingly raised them also deserves the best home ever.
