Meerkat (aka “Mimi”)

Meet Meerkat, a sweet, playful, friendly, and curious three-year-old who weighs about ten to twelve pounds! He’s moderate energy and people-oriented, and he loves being involved in whatever his household is doing. He’s happy to go on a walk but even happier to come home and cuddle.

Meerkat is friendly with his foster family and patient with people on the street. He’s very good with other dogs and has become best friends with his foster’s resident dog, so he’d do well as an only dog or with a canine sibling. He’s potty trained and has already spent two hours alone in a separate room without any trouble. He loves exploring the city and walks with his tail happily wagging.

After a long journey up from Texas, Meerkat is settling into his new home and growing more relaxed every day. He’s alert to noises and activity, and he does best with a predictable routine, a calm environment, and positive reinforcement. His favorite toy is a silicone ball with treats hidden inside!

One adorable quirk: Meerkat gets cold very easily, so his future family should invest in a few cozy sweaters or be ready for lots of cuddles under a warm blanket.

Meerkat would do best in a moderate home with someone who loves spending time with their dog and can help him keep building confidence. He’s a great fit for apartment living.

The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size. Originating from Mexico, these dogs are known for their large, expressive eyes and alert, curious nature. Chihuahuas make excellent companions, forming strong bonds with their owners and displaying a protective nature. They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.
