Big Poppa (aka "Poppa")

Meet Big Poppa, a curious, cuddly, goofy, and sweet two-year-old Xoloitzcuintli who weighs eleven pounds! He's moderate energy and deeply people-oriented, loving to explore and meet new people. He's currently a bit nervous walking outside, but has a loving, fun personality once he feels safe indoors.

Big Poppa is very friendly with adults and new people, playful but gentle, and loves cuddling up for pets. He's also very friendly with other dogs, gentle and affectionate with his foster's older resident dog. He's calm and happy with guests and just as content napping when left alone.

He's pee pad trained and is still learning leash skills and building confidence walking outside. He's also learning "sit" and is very treat motivated.

His days are full of cuddles, naps burrowed under blankets, and playtime — especially finding treats in a Kong and playing with small, furry toys.

Big Poppa would do best with an adopter who loves cuddling and wants a devoted little shadow. He'd do well as an only dog or with another pup, and he's a great fit for apartment living.
