Pinto - Chihuahua and Pug Dog for Adoption

Pinto (aka "Bean," "Baby," "Stinker Boy")

Meet Pinto, an affectionate, seven-year-old Chihuahua/Pug mix who weighs ten pounds! He's low to moderate energy, a big napper and relaxer with cute little bursts of playfulness, especially with his favorite tennis ball. He's very people-oriented and loves following around like a little shadow.

Pinto adjusts wonderfully to new situations. He loves meeting new people and spent a weekend with three kids, who all fought over who got to cuddle him for movie nights! He's also doing great living alongside his foster's big resident dog, growing braver and more confident around bigger pups every day. He's perfect with guests and does well left alone too.

He's almost 100% potty trained, perfect on a leash, and loves following his person around off-leash in the yard chasing his ball. He knows sit, come, stay, and "good boy"! His days are full of walks, fetch, car rides (he falls right asleep!), dinner time, lots of naps, and cuddles — he responds especially well to reassurance and praise, and is a smart, food-motivated boy.

Pinto would do best with an adopter who can offer plenty of affection, attention, and companionship.

Pinto previously tested positive for heartworm and was treated before traveling north.

With a wrinkled face, curled tail, and expressive eyes, pugs are beloved for their affectionate nature and playful demeanor. Originating from China, these compact dogs have a smooth coat and require minimal grooming. Pugs are known to be excellent companions, suitable for owners of all ages due to their adaptable and social temperament.
