Meet Shorty, a happy, trusting, friendly, playful, and affectionate five-year-old who weighs nine pounds! He's a rescue from Texas who's now living the city life. He's moderate energy, with great pep for a little guy, and he loves his walks before a good cuddle and a nap. He's people-oriented, loves affection, and trusts people quickly. He warms up fast in new situations, and once he's comfortable he rarely barks.

Shorty makes friends with everyone he meets and is quiet and relaxed with guests once he's settled in. He should do well with another dog if it's the right fit, and a meet-and-greet first is a must. He's fine when left alone, knows how to walk on a leash, and knows sit. He knows to wait for his food, too!

His days are simple and sweet: two walks, tug-of-war with his toys, lots of cuddles, and a good nap. He's working on apartment potty training and wearing his cute little diapers in the meantime, and his foster is confident he'll get there once he's settled in his forever home. He's quiet and little, which makes him a great fit for apartment living.

Shorty would do best with an adopter who will shower him with affection, enjoy a good game of tug, and be patient while he settles in. He'd thrive in a moderate household with a steady routine.
