Rachel - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption

**Rachel (aka "Dot")**

Meet Rachel, a sweet, silly, cuddly, social, and zippy one-year-old who weighs just seven pounds! She's intelligent, agile, and a complete doll. She has plenty of energy for adventures, but for a young pup she can also be calm and doesn't demand constant play.

Rachel is curious and people-oriented, but she can be shy with new people and takes a few days to warm up. Once she knows you, she's a total sweetheart. She's friendly with other dogs, plays gently, and is respectful of her foster's senior dog, and the two are warming up to each other quickly. Since she gains so much confidence from having a canine buddy, she'd do best in a home with another dog.

Rachel is still learning the basics, including house training, crate training, and leash skills. She's smart and treat motivated, so with consistency and patience she'll pick things up quickly. She also needs some time to build confidence in busy city settings and is still getting used to being home alone.

She loves to cuddle, tuck her nose into the crook of your arm, and be wrapped up like a burrito in a blanket. She does little army crawls and foot taps when she's excited to play!

Rachel would do best in an active home with a patient adopter who has dog training experience and plenty of time to help her learn and grow. She's a great fit for apartment living.
