Ray Ray may look solemn in his photos, but behind those warm brown eyes is a heart that’s learning to trust again. This 2-year old Cairn x Norfolk Terrier mix weighs about 11 pounds and has that classic terrier charm — scruffy fur, bright eyes, and a quiet determination to belong.

Ray Ray came to us at the beginning of the year, fearful and unsure of people. He’s always been wonderful with other dogs, including the companion he arrived with (who’s now happily adopted). Over time, Ray has made steady progress — discovering that gentle voices, soft hands, and patient hearts can be safe.

Ray would do best in a calm environment — no toddlers or hectic households. He’d thrive in an apartment with one person or as part of a small, easygoing pack of dogs and humans. Once he feels safe, he’ll be your loyal shadow, curling up beside you as if he’s finally found where he belongs.

Ray Ray will be neutered soon, is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and chipped. He will benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family.

Adoption fee is $350 plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will be updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.

The Cairn Terrier is a small, sturdy breed known for its lively and intelligent temperament. The Norfolk Terrier is a small, alert, and intelligent breed known for its friendly and fearless nature. Originally bred in England for hunting small vermin, these dogs are now cherished as lovable companions. They have a wiry, weather resistant coat that comes in various shades of red, wheaten, black and tan, or grizzle. With their playful and affectionate temperament, Norfolk Terriers make wonderful family pets and thrive in both urban and rural environments.
