Before you fall in love with Emmalyn, theres something important to know: Emmalyn is an OUT-OF-TOWN PET. She is currently being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, Texas, but monthly rescue transport is available to bring her close to you. Full transport information is below.
Meet Emmalyn
Some dogs chase tennis balls.
Some dogs chase Frisbees.
Emmalyn chases people.
Not because she's needy. Not because she's wild.
But because, more than anything else in the world, this sweet girl just wants to be close to someone who loves her.
At about a year old and 55 pounds, Emmalyn is the kind of dog who feels like an old friend from the moment you meet her. Calm, gentle, affectionate and quietly loyal, she has a softness about her that is impossible to fake.
While the other dogs are busy running laps and wrestling in the yard, Emmalyn will join in and play for a while. But before long, she'll wander back over to the humans, perfectly content to sit nearby and simply enjoy being with you.
That's who Emmalyn is.
A companion. A shadow. A best friend patiently waiting for her person.
Emmalyn loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and even showed no prey drive when introduced to a cat. She walks beautifully on a leash and carries herself with the kind of easygoing sweetness that makes you feel comfortable around her almost immediately.
She isn't the dog who needs to be entertained every minute of the day.
She's the dog quietly leaning against your leg while you drink your morning coffee.
The dog sitting beside you after a hard day.
The dog who will happily watch the world go by with you from the porch as though she's been part of your family forever.
Emmalyn is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative and ready for a loving home where she can finally exhale and know that she belongs.
Some dogs ask for toys.
Some dogs ask for treats.
Emmalyn is simply asking for someone to stay.
GETTING EMMALYN HOME
Emmalyn is currently fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, Texas. Twilight Tails Rescue is Houston-based, with our fosters and Rescue Ranch located in and around the Houston area.
Emmalyn can be transported close to your home on rescue transport, which travels through your area approximately once a month.

Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session so you can meet Emmalyn before adoption.
Understanding Rescue Transport
Once the adoption is approved, Emmalyn will be scheduled for transport with AJC Rescue & Transport.
Dogs travel in scheduled air-conditioned/heated transport vans from our Rescue Ranch in Fulshear, Texas, to a designated location near their adopters.
Each transport has two drivers who alternate driving. The driver who isn't behind the wheel provides updates through a group chat, and you'll be included so you can follow Emmalyn's journey home.
You'll receive the exact pickup location and estimated arrival time. Traffic, weather and other unexpected circumstances can sometimes affect the schedule, but you'll be kept informed of delays or early arrivals.
The dogs receive scheduled bathroom, walking and feeding breaks along the way and, for their safety, travel securely crated while the vehicle is moving.
Emmalyn has already spent enough time waiting for her person. Maybe she's been waiting for you.
