Meet Wally, a perfectly sized 30lbs Australian Cattle Dog mix who’s just over a year old and full of heart. His speckled coat and bright eyes hint at his Heeler heritage — clever, loyal, and always up for fun — but his easygoing nature makes him a joy to live with.

Personality
Wally is the best kind of dog: playful outside, calm inside, and deeply devoted to his people. He’s fantastic with other dogs — friendly, polite, and always ready to make a new buddy. At the dog park he’s the social butterfly, romping, chasing, and inviting everyone into the game. When introduced to horses, donkeys, cows, and goats, Wally showed no reaction to them. We have not tested him with cats but he is fine with small dogs, or any size dogs!

And speaking of games... Wally is a retrieving superstar. Balls, toys, squeakers — if you can throw it, he’ll bring it back with pride. He can play fetch for hours and has the athleticism to try agility, dock diving, or frisbee if you’re looking for a fun partner.

Indoors, he’s medium-energy and settles beautifully. One of his sweetest quirks? Wally likes to sleep under the covers. At night he tucks himself in like a little burrito, happy and content to be close to his people.

Smart & Well Mannered
Wally is a quick learner with a big desire to please. He’s fully potty trained and is even learning to ring a bell when he needs to go out. He listens well, rides quietly in the car, and enjoys walks, hikes, and exploring new places. He’s the kind of dog who makes you proud everywhere you take him.

His Story
Wally was found homeless in Houston and taken to a city shelter where he was scheduled for euthanasia. Twilight Tails saw something special in him — and we were right. Beneath his quiet confidence is a survivor’s heart full of gratitude, resilience, and love.

He’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative — healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home.

His Dream
As summer fades and the air turns crisp, Wally’s hoping for one thing: a family of his own to share every season ahead. He’ll bond quickly, love deeply, and be the perfect partner for hikes, beachcombing, learning a new sport, or simply cuddling under the blankets at night. Wally is neutered, microchipped & vaccinated and would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family.

Currently this dog is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below.

Adoption fee is $350 plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will be updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
