Meet Buck - The Playful One-Year-Old Who Still Thinks He's a Lap Dog
Buck may be a year old, but nobody has convinced him that he's too big to be somebody's lap puppy.
If there's a lap available, Buck is willing to give it a try.
He's an affectionate, energetic, happy-go-lucky guy who loves to play, give kisses, and spend time with his people. He's goofy, easygoing, and enthusiastic about life-with an especially adorable little play pounce when he's ready for some fun.
Buck Loves:
-Walks
-Playing fetch
-Tug toys
-Playing with other dogs
-Playing with toys
-Giving kisses
-Getting attention
-Being close to his people
-Trying to be a lap dog
-Anything that involves playtime
Buck's Favorite Thing:
Playing-and then loving on his people.
Buck is an active young dog who genuinely enjoys having fun.
Give him a toy, start a game of fetch, bring out the tug, or give him another dog to play with and he's ready to go.
But underneath all that puppy enthusiasm is an incredibly affectionate dog.
Buck loves giving kisses and being close to his people.
Sometimes he forgets how big he is and decides the obvious solution is to climb into your lap.
Technically, he may not fit.
Buck does not consider this relevant information.
That Playful Little Pounce
Buck has an especially cute way of initiating play.
He pounces.
Combine that with his goofy personality and general enthusiasm, and Buck is the kind of dog who can make ordinary playtime pretty entertaining.
He's energetic and excitable, but he's also described as easygoing and happy-go-lucky.
Buck may initially be shy and bark when meeting someone new. Give him a little time to settle in, and you'll get to see the playful, affectionate dog underneath.
Buck Already Has Some Great Skills
For a young dog, Buck already has an impressive foundation.
He's house trained and crate trained, and his leash manners are excellent.
Buck knows:
Sit
Down
Stay
Come
Crate
He may jump when he's excited, so continued reinforcement of polite greetings will be helpful.
Otherwise, no significant behavioral concerns were reported.
Dogs, Cats & Kids
Buck loves other dogs and enjoys having canine playmates.
He coexists well with cats.
He's also good with children.
That combination could make Buck a great candidate for a family looking for a young, social dog who can join a home with both two-legged and four-legged family members.

Buck's background is listed as Star Trained. Beyond that, additional history wasn't provided, so we won't make assumptions about his story before rescue.
What we do know is the dog standing in front of us now.
Buck is a playful one-year-old with a solid training foundation, excellent leash manners, and plenty of enthusiasm for life. He loves dogs, lives well with cats, is good with kids, and has enough personality to keep his future family smiling.
He's still young. He's still goofy. And sometimes he still has absolutely no concept of his own size.
But when Buck climbs into your lap and starts handing out kisses, you may decide there's no reason to correct him about that last part.
