Meet Leroy - The Bouncy Little Brainiac with a Sweet Side
Leroy may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a chance to get comfortable and you'll discover a smart, playful, incredibly sweet puppy underneath.
He's still learning that new people and new situations aren't so scary. Leroy does best with slower introductions and a little patience, but once he decides you're safe, his personality starts coming out.
And apparently, so does his inner rabbit.
His foster says:
"He jumps and runs like a rabbit. He's very bouncy!"
Leroy Loves:
-Playing with other dogs
-Going for walks
-Zoomies
-Running and bouncing around
-Learning new things
-Treats and food
-Spending time with people once he's comfortable
Leroy's Favorite Thing:
Playing with other dogs.
Leroy absolutely loves canine companionship, and having another dog around gives him an opportunity to let loose and simply have fun.
That's when you get to see more of the goofy, playful puppy hiding behind his initially shy exterior.
Shy at First, Sweet Once He Knows You
Leroy isn't the puppy who's necessarily going to run straight into a crowd and introduce himself to everyone.
He can be nervous around unfamiliar people and needs slow introductions.
The good news is that he warms up quickly.
His foster describes him as "super smart, a fast learner, and so sweet once he is used to you."
Busy crowds can still make him nervous, but he's improving with exposure. Leroy will benefit from an adopter who continues building his confidence without pushing him faster than he's ready to go.
Smart, Athletic & Ready to Learn
Leroy is a bright puppy.
He's already learned Sit, is highly food motivated, and his foster describes him as a very fast learner.
His leash manners are also excellent, which is pretty impressive for such a young guy.
He's an athletic puppy who's expected to be higher energy as he matures, so he'll likely enjoy having opportunities to exercise both his body and his brain.

Meet & Greet Availability:
Leroy's foster is not currently available to travel for meet-and-greets.
Leroy's history before coming into foster care isn't known, but what his foster is seeing now is a puppy with a lot of potential.
He's smart. He's athletic. He already walks beautifully on leash and knows Sit. He's doing wonderfully with his potty routine and is crate trained.
The biggest thing Leroy is still learning is confidence.
He may need a little more time to decide that you're his friend-but once he does, you get to meet the sweet, goofy puppy his foster already knows.
And then you'd better be prepared for the bouncing.
Because when Leroy gets excited, apparently there's a little bit of rabbit mixed in there somewhere.
