DESCRIPTION

Meet Blaire - The Smart, Athletic Girl Who's Ready for a Job

Blaire isn't looking for a life spent sitting on the sidelines.

She's an active, athletic, intelligent adolescent who loves to move, loves to learn, and does best when she's given something productive to do with both her body and her brain.

She's also incredibly affectionate, playful, curious, and people-oriented. Blaire loves playing with other dogs and spending time with her humans, but what really makes this girl shine is having an outlet for all that intelligence and energy.

For Blaire, simply running around isn't always enough.

She needs to think, too.

Training, agility, scent work, puzzle games, structured activities, or even having a regular "job" around the house would be fantastic ways to help Blaire feel fulfilled.

And once you've worked that brain?

That's when she's ready to settle in and enjoy time with her people.

Blaire Loves:

- Playing with other dogs
- Running and being active
- Exploring
- Tug toys
- Playing with toys
- Chewing bones
- Sniffing and investigating
- Learning new things
- Training and enrichment
- Spending time outside
- Cuddling
- Spending time with her humans
- Having something to do

Blaire's Favorite Thing:

Being busy with her people.

Blaire is the kind of young dog who could really thrive when given a purpose.

She isn't a dog who will be fulfilled by simply being turned loose in the yard to burn off physical energy. She benefits from activities that require her to think, problem-solve, focus, and work with her person.

That's why we think Blaire could be especially fun for someone interested in activities like:

- Agility
- Scent work
- Obedience or trick training
- Food puzzles
- Structured games
- Hiking
- Interactive play
- Learning household jobs
- Other dog sports or training activities

She doesn't necessarily need to become a competitive sport dog.

She just needs someone who understands that a tired brain can be just as important as a tired body.

Active, Athletic & Smart

Blaire has grown from a little puppy into an energetic adolescent with plenty of potential.

She's athletic and enjoys physical activity, but she's also bright and curious.

That combination means Blaire will do best in a home where exercise isn't just about accumulating miles.

She needs mental exercise, too.

Give her something to learn.

Ask her to use her nose.

Teach her a new skill.

Set up an obstacle course.

Give her a puzzle to solve.

Work on agility foundations.

Turn everyday activities into little training opportunities.

Blaire is the type of dog who will likely be happiest when she wakes up with something to look forward to.

And Yes-She Can Still Settle

Being active doesn't mean Blaire needs to be moving every second of the day.

Once she's had appropriate physical exercise and, importantly, mental stimulation, she can settle down and enjoy the quieter side of life.

She loves affection and enjoys spending time with her humans.

She can play hard with another dog, work that busy brain, and then come back inside to relax.

The key for Blaire is giving her appropriate outlets first.

She's Already Got the Basics

Blaire is now an adolescent and has already mastered two of the biggest skills families often worry about with younger dogs:

She's house trained and crate trained.

That gives her future family a great foundation to build upon.

She's still young and will benefit tremendously from continued training, structure, consistency, and enrichment.

With how smart and motivated she is, we'd love to see someone take advantage of that potential rather than simply trying to wear her out physically.

Dogs, Cats & Kids

Blaire loves other dogs and enjoys canine companionship and play.

An appropriately matched dog could be a great playmate for her, although another dog isn't a substitute for the training and mental enrichment Blaire needs from her humans.

Blaire is also good with children and loves being part of family life.

Her experience with cats has been limited. Based on her temperament, her foster believes she may do well with appropriate introductions and supervision, but cats have not been fully evaluated.

Blaire's story before coming into rescue is unknown, but the young dog she's becoming is pretty exciting.

She is house trained, crate trained, athletic, affectionate, social, and intelligent.

She loves other dogs.

She loves her humans.

And she has a brain that's asking to be used.

Blaire doesn't just need someone who will throw a ball until she's tired. She needs someone who will **teach her, challenge her, engage her, and give all that mental energy somewhere productive to go.**

She could be the dog learning an agility course.

The hiking partner beside you on the trail.

The dog who lights up when you pull out the training treats because she knows it's time to work.

And after she's had a chance to use that athletic body and busy brain, she can come home and enjoy being loved on by her people.

If you've been looking for a young, athletic dog with the brains and enthusiasm to become an incredible training or adventure partner, Blaire may be exactly the girl you've been waiting for.
