DESCRIPTION

Meet Atlas - The Mellow Little Guy Who Just Wants to Be Near His People

Atlas is a sweet, easygoing puppy with a gentle personality, a goofy side, and a serious appreciation for a good couch cuddle.

He's curious and adventurous without being high-strung. Atlas enjoys exploring, playing with other dogs, going for car rides, and having some fun-but he's equally content curling up beside his people for a movie and taking life easy.

And if there are kids around?

That's where Atlas really shines.

Atlas Loves:

-Being with his people
-Kids
-Car rides
-Sniffing and exploring
-Playing with other dogs
-Tug toys
-Chewing on bones
-Cuddling on the couch
-Napping
-Quiet relaxation
-Low-key adventures

Atlas's Favorite Thing:

Being close to the kids he loves.

Atlas is currently fostered with a toddler, and he's developed the sweetest attachment to her.

If she leaves his sight, Atlas immediately wants to know where she went. If he can't follow her, he'll sit and whimper because he'd much rather be wherever she is.

His foster says this attachment has become one of the cutest things about him.

Atlas doesn't just tolerate children-he absolutely loves them.

Mellow with Just Enough Puppy

Atlas is still a puppy, but he isn't particularly high-strung.

He's calm, sweet, cuddly, and easygoing, with enough playfulness and curiosity to keep things fun. He enjoys adventures but also seems perfectly happy with a quieter day at home.

He's expected to have medium energy as he grows and could fit nicely into a variety of lifestyles.

Atlas may be shy or nervous initially in some situations, but he warms up quickly. As he continues experiencing more of the world, he'll benefit from a family that gives him time to take things in without pushing him too quickly.

Making Great Progress at Home

Atlas is doing very well with his potty routine.

He keeps his crate clean all day while his foster family is working and throughout the night while they're sleeping. If he needs to go outside overnight, he'll actually wake his foster family by whimpering.

That's pretty impressive communication for such a young guy.

Crate training is still a work in progress, and his foster has discovered something important: Atlas does much better when his crate is near other dogs rather than being crated alone in a separate space.

That information will be helpful for his future family as they continue building positive crate habits.

Meet & Greet Availability:
Atlas's foster is happy to meet approved adopters within approximately a couple of hours of Holmen, WI.

Atlas was found in the desert before making his way into rescue. We don't know everything about what happened before he was found, so we'll let the puppy he's becoming now tell us who Atlas really is.

And that puppy is pretty special.

He's learning his household routine, doing wonderfully with potty training, making dog friends, enjoying his adventures, and developing the sweetest bond with the little girl in his foster home.

He's still a baby with plenty of learning ahead of him, but Atlas already seems to understand one of the most important parts of being a family dog:

Life is better when you're together.

If you're looking for a gentle, goofy, cuddly puppy who can enjoy an adventure and then happily curl up with the family for movie night, Atlas might be exactly who you've been waiting for.

These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity.
