DESCRIPTION

Meet Veda - The Sweet Little Shadow Who Just Needs a Day or Two

Veda doesn't need weeks to decide you're her person.

Just give her a day or two.

She's a gentle, slightly shy girl who needs a little time to decompress and understand that she's safe. Once that happens, her foster says she becomes your best friend-and one incredible snuggler.

Veda is calm, curious, affectionate, and happiest when she can stay close to the people she trusts.

Veda Loves:

-Walks
-Car rides
-Sniffing and exploring
-Cuddling
-Playing with other dogs
-Spending time with her people
-Quiet adventures
-Being close to her favorite person

Veda's Favorite Thing:

Snuggling with someone she trusts.

Veda is a Velcro girl once she's comfortable.

She may be reserved when she first arrives, but don't mistake that initial shyness for her full personality. Give her some patience and a chance to observe her new surroundings.

Her foster says it typically takes a day or two for Veda to warm up and decompress.

Then you get to meet the sweetheart underneath.

A Little Patience Goes a Long Way

New environments can make Veda nervous, and she does best with slow introductions.

She doesn't need to be pushed into interactions or expected to immediately feel comfortable in a brand-new home. Let her settle in at her own pace and build trust naturally.

Once Veda knows she's safe, she forms a close bond and loves being near her people.

She's already comfortable going on outings and enjoys both neighborhood walks and car rides.

Apparently, Veda Has Been Practicing Her Leash Skills

Veda has excellent leash manners.

In fact, her first walk with her foster family made quite an impression.

She walked so nicely that her foster joked she was doing better than their own dogs.

And Veda kept looking back at them as if to say:

"See how good I am?"

Yes, Veda. We see you.

Off to a Great Start at Home

Veda has little to no potty accidents when kept on a consistent routine and schedule.

She's also crate trained and already knows:

Crate
Leave It

She's a polite girl with a nice medium energy level, making her a great balance for someone who enjoys getting out for walks and adventures but also wants a dog who's happy to settle in close afterward.

Dogs, Cats & Kids

Veda enjoys playing with other dogs, although she can initially be shy with them too.

She's good with children.

Her experience with cats is limited, so we can't say for certain how she'll do. Based on her temperament, her foster believes she would likely be fine with appropriate introductions.

Meet & Greet Availability:
Veda's foster is happy to meet approved adopters within approximately one hour of La Crosse, WI.

Veda's previous history wasn't provided, so we'll let the girl she is today tell you what matters.

She's gentle. She's sweet. She walks beautifully on leash. She enjoys adventures and car rides, gets along with dogs, and loves a good cuddle.

She just needs one thing from her new family:

A little patience in the beginning.

Give Veda a day or two to settle in without asking too much of her. Let her learn the sounds of your home, understand the routine, and figure out that she's safe.

Then don't be surprised when the shy girl you brought home suddenly becomes your little shadow and your new best friend.
