Janet (Spayed) (Photos August 8th 2026) - Hound Dog for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Janet is a beautiful female Hound mix (approximately 2-years old) who was left in an outside kennel at the HSOV during the overnight/early morning hours on August 8th 2026. Her two companions (Chrissy and Jack) were also left with Janet. The person who abandoned them was apparently their owner, but that individual did not leave any information about them (not even their real names).

Janet has a white shorthaired coat with brindle-and-black markings, a long tail, and an adorable symmetrically-marked white/brindle face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose, a slender muzzle, and floppy brindle ears.

This young lady has a friendly disposition but was understandably nervous being in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs nearby and people that she did not realize were her new best friends.

These photos of Janet were taken on August 8th 2026 when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver spent time with her that afternoon for outdoor pictures. Janet did remarkably well posing for her Petfinder/Facebook photos and seemed to realize that she was safe and in good hands with Emily.

Janet weighs approximately 50 lbs.

Janet has already been spayed, so she could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application (and she is also available for fostering). Janet is ready to find a great home where she will be loved and spoiled to her heart's content.
