Jack (Photos August 8th 2026) - Hound Dog for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Jack is a handsome young male possible Hound mix (perhaps one-year old) who was left in an outside kennel at the HSOV during the overnight/early morning hours on August 8th 2026. His two female companions (Chrissy and Janet) were also left with him. The person who abandoned them was apparently their owner, but that individual did not leave any information about them (not even their real names).

Jack has a black shorthhaired coat with white/black markings on his chest, white paws, a long tail, and a beautiful face with soulful brown eyes, a black button nose on his cute Boxer/Spaniel-like muzzle, and large floppy ears.

Jack was understandably a bit bewildered being in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs nearby and people that he did not yet realize were his new best friends.

These photos were taken on August 8th 2026 when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied Jack for outdoor pictures. This sweet boy has a docile, easygoing personality and decided to pose for most of his photos relaxing in the green grass, and he had such precious innocent facial expressions. Jack is the kind of a dog you want to hold close and whisper in his ear that everything will be ok, and he will find a good home. Jack seemed to realize that he was safe and in good hands with Emily.

Jack hadn't stepped on the scales for a weigh-in yet, but he likely weighs 50 lbs or so.

Jack will be neutered before being officially adopted by his new family. He could be fostered or fostered-to-adopt while he is awaiting that procedure with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.
