Meet Sheldon — The Gentle One

Some puppies burst into your life demanding attention.

Sheldon has a different approach.

He simply walks into the room, looks at you with that sweet face, and somehow you find yourself falling in love.

At 5 and a 1/2 months old and 20 pounds, Sheldon is a handsome tricolor Great Pyrenees/Collie mix with a wonderfully gentle spirit. He’s expected to grow to a very manageable 45–60 pounds—big enough for great hugs, but still convinced there will always be room beside you on the couch.

Sheldon is one of those puppies who just seems to have kindness built into him.

He loves meeting new people and happily romps and plays with other puppies. He’s almost completely house-trained, already walks nicely on a leash, and for such a young guy, he’s doing a pretty impressive job learning what it means to be a good family dog.

But Sheldon’s best quality isn't something you can teach.

It’s his heart.

There’s a softness about this boy. He wants to be part of things. He wants friends to play with, people to love and a place where he knows he belongs.

Right now, Sheldon doesn't know what his future looks like.

He doesn't know whose door he'll someday wait beside when they come home.

He doesn't know which neighborhood will become his neighborhood, which bed will become his favorite sleeping spot, or which family will eventually wonder how their home ever felt complete without him.

All Sheldon knows is that when someone offers him friendship, he gives it right back.

He has plenty of growing left to do, plenty of adventures ahead and an entire lifetime of love waiting to be given.

Sheldon is ready for a home.

Sheldon's on the road...

Sheldon is microchipped & fully vaccinated and will need to be neutered by his adopter before he is 1 year old. We will give you a $100 rebate when that has been done. He would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family.

Currently this dog is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below.

Adoption fee is $425 plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.

Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session for you to meet him.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.

The Collie is a graceful and intelligent dog known for their loyalty, gentle nature, and exceptional herding abilities. They come in two coat varieties, rough and smooth, with colors ranging from sable and white to blue merle. Collies excel in obedience training and thrive on mental stimulation and physical activity. Originating from the Pyrenees Mountains, these large and dignified dogs are renowned for their protective instincts and ability to work as livestock guardians. With their stunning white coats and imposing stature, Great Pyrenees exude an air of regal confidence while also possessing a gentle and affectionate nature towards their families.
