Meet Mabel — The Girl Who’s Ready to Belong

Somewhere along the way, Mabel lost her home.

We don't know how. We don't know how long she was on her own. We only know that this beautiful girl was found as a stray, and when no owner came forward to claim her, Mabel suddenly found herself waiting for a new life to begin.

And somehow, through all of that, she never stopped loving people.

Mabel is 2 years old and 65 pounds, a gorgeous Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix with the kind of gentle nature you'd expect from both breeds.

She isn't looking for much.

A family. A soft place to sleep. Some dog friends to play with. Maybe a cat or two—she's lived beautifully with cats in her foster home. And most of all, people she can finally call her own.

Mabel is already completely house-trained and is working hard on her leash manners. She's smart, eager to learn and seems determined to prove that she's ready for this next chapter.

She's also spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and healthy.

In other words, Mabel is ready.

Ready for walks where she knows which house she's coming back to.

Ready for a favorite spot on the floor, a food bowl with her name on it and someone who smiles when they hear her coming.

Ready to stop being the stray somebody found and start being Mabel, somebody's dog.

We can't tell Mabel why her first family never came looking for her.

But maybe someday that won't matter anymore.

Because the right family won't have to come looking for the dog they lost.

They'll come looking for the dog they've been missing.

Mabel is spayed, microchipped & vaccinated and would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands she has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with her new family.

Currently this dog is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below.

Adoption fee is $425 plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.

Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session for you to meet her.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
