DESCRIPTION

MEET PEANUT: 14 YEARS YOUNG AND PROFESSIONAL COUCH COMPANION!

Peanut is a 14-year-old, 14-pound scruffy terrier gentleman who has officially retired from the hustle and bustle of life. His current career goals? A comfy couch, a loving human, and absolutely no unnecessary excitement.

Through no fault of his own, Peanut is looking for a new home due to his humans divorcing. At 14, he wasn't planning on starting over, but he's hopeful there's someone out there with room in their heart (and on their sofa) for a distinguished little gentleman.

Peanut is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, potty trained, and crate trained. He's accustomed to relaxing in his crate while his human is at work, so he's familiar with the working-class lifestyle, even if he personally prefers retirement.

He absolutely loves people and is happiest lounging around, enjoying the finer things in life. Larger dogs can make him a little nervous initially, but he settles with time. He's reportedly cat-friendly, although he does reserve the right to bark at them. Apparently, someone has to supervise the household!

Peanut isn't asking for much. Just a soft place to land, a human to love, and a peaceful home where he can enjoy his golden years.

Fourteen years old doesn't mean he's out of love to give. It just means he's had plenty of practice.

Let's find this sweet senior the happy ending he deserves!

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.

***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
