Skye - Mountain Cur and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in New Orleans, Louisiana

Skye is living in a hostile environment, and her owner has reached out to rescue for help finding her a safe, loving new home. Her owner is currently staying with friends but cannot bring Skye along, so she has been going back and forth to feed and care for her. Skye needs a safe place to go as soon as possible!

Originally adopted from a rescue that is no longer operating, Skye carries burn scars on her back from a troubled past. This sweet girl deserves a brighter future filled with love and security.

Skye is 4 years old and weighs just 26 pounds-a petite Mountain Cur mix with a little Shih Tzu, a tiny bit of Dachshund, and a dash of Pug according to her DNA results! She is super sweet, kid and dog friendly, loves toys, and would love to be your running buddy!

She isn't too fond of kitties but has lived with them before. A home with cats would require slow, careful introductions, and compatibility cannot be guaranteed.

Skye is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and current on heartworm prevention.

Can you offer Skye a safe foster home or a forever home? Please apply if you can help, and share her story. She's already been through so much-let's help her find the love and stability she deserves!

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
