Stella - Yorkie Poo Dog for Adoption in Houston, Texas

Stella is an OUT-OF-TOWN PET. She is currently being fostered near Houston, Texas, but monthly rescue transport is available to bring her close to you. Full transport information is below.

Stella - 10 years Young and a professional velcro dog!

Stella, a tiny 9.5-pound angel, knows what she wants for her golden years: a warm lap, a loving heart, and someone to call her very own.

This incredibly soft, sweet little lady was knocking on death's door when she was rescued. Stella wasn't ready to say goodbye to life, she was just waiting for her second chance. And what a comeback she's made! She is walking well, feeling playful, and discovering that life can be pretty wonderful after all.

Stella is a certified lap dog and full-time shadow. Wherever you are, that's exactly where she wants to be. She is quiet and gentle, although she'll occasionally let out a little bark when she feels the need to protect her favorite human.

She is blind in one eye, but it hasn't dampened her spirit or her determination to enjoy every precious moment. Stella is a good eater, enjoying kibble and soft food.

Stella's dream home:

Someone who is home much of the time or home with another pup to keep her company. Stella has already spent enough time fighting to survive. Now she just wants to be loved.

At 10 years old, Stella isn't asking for much. She doesn't need grand adventures or fancy things. Just a cozy spot beside you, a lap to curl up in, and the promise that she'll never have to feel alone again. Stella is a VERY sweet, soft and loving dog, who loves to be held. We prefer a home without children, as Stella is tiny and needs a gentle home.

Stella currently sleeps with her fosters in bed, and has never had an accident. She understands the purpose of puppy pads, and utilized them when she was initially enclosed in a pen. Since she wants to be with the dog pack, her fosters switched her to tiny doggy diapers so she could hang out with them while they are away from the house.

Stella survived the hardest chapter of her life. Could you be the person who makes the rest of her story the happiest?

Understanding Rescue Transport

Once the adoption is approved, Stella will be scheduled for transport with AJC Rescue & Transport.

Dogs travel in scheduled air-conditioned/heated transport vans from our Rescue Ranch in Fulshear, Texas, to a designated location near their adopters.

Each transport has two drivers who alternate driving. The driver who isn't behind the wheel provides updates through a group chat, and you'll be included so you can follow Stella's journey home.

You'll receive the exact pickup location and estimated arrival time. Traffic, weather and other unexpected circumstances can sometimes affect the schedule, but you'll be kept informed of delays or early arrivals.

The dogs receive scheduled bathroom, walking and feeding breaks along the way and, for their safety, travel securely crated while the vehicle is moving.
