Meet Van Helsing

Don't let the legendary name fool you... the only thing Van Helsing is hunting is tennis balls, playmates, and someone to love him forever.

This 8-month-old Shepherd mix weighs about 33 pounds and is everything you could want in a young dog: sweet, goofy, affectionate, and always ready for fun. Found as a stray, Van Helsing is now safe with Take Paws and excited to leave his wandering days behind.

Van is neutered, heartworm negative, and has been a fantastic guest in rescue. He hasn't had a single accident in his kennel run and is proving to be a smart boy who's eager to learn.

His favorite thing? Other dogs! Van absolutely lights up around canine friends and would thrive in a home with another playful dog to wrestle, romp, and share adventures with. He's social, easygoing, and has the kind of happy-go-lucky personality that makes friends wherever he goes.

Like any young Shepherd mix, Van will benefit from an active family committed to continuing his training, providing daily exercise, and giving him plenty of opportunities to use both his body and his brain. In return, you'll get a loyal companion who is always up for whatever the day brings.

If you're looking for a goofy best friend with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging, Van Helsing is ready to sink his teeth into his forever home... and only his chew toys.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
