Winslow - Black Labrador Retriever and Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in New Orleans, Louisiana

Meet Winslow: A Little High Maintenance, A Whole Lot of Love!

Some dogs are easy keepers. Others are once-in-a-lifetime loves who just need a little extra understanding. Winslow is definitely the latter!

Meet Winslow, a handsome, approximately 3-year-old, 75-pound Labrador/Pittie mix with a heart as big as his personality. This sweet, sensitive gentleman is an absolute cuddlebug who believes there's no such thing as too much love or affection.

Winslow is kind, gentle, affectionate, and incredibly special. He's the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world. And honestly, isn't that what we're all looking for?

Now, Winslow does come with a little owner's manual. But we promise, he's worth reading every page!

The Medical Fine Print: Winslow has successfully completed heartworm treatment! He also has allergies that require ongoing management. He needs a special diet for his food allergies and receives allergy injections every two weeks to help manage his environmental allergies. Think of him as a distinguished gentleman with very particular dining and wellness requirements!

His Favorite Things: Cuddles, affection, and being close to his favorite humans! Winslow forms strong attachments, and while he is crate trained, he struggles with severe separation anxiety. He'll need a patient, understanding adopter who can help him feel secure and work with him on becoming more comfortable when left alone. A home where someone is around much of the time would be especially wonderful.

A Few House Rules: Winslow prefers a feline-free lifestyle. Cats are simply too tempting to chase, so a home without them is a must! He can also be protective of his most prized possessions, particularly high-value toys. His future family should understand resource guarding and be willing to use positive reinforcement and thoughtful management to help everyone feel safe and comfortable.

The Perfect Match: Winslow isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for someone who sees beyond his special requirements and recognizes the incredible dog underneath. Someone patient, committed, compassionate, and ready to love him exactly as he is.

Because here's the thing about Winslow: His allergies don't define him. His anxiety doesn't define him. His enormous capacity to love does.

He may need a little extra care, but the love he has to give? That's the easy part.

Winslow has so much affection waiting for someone who will finally call him family.

Could you be the person who makes Winslow's world feel safe, happy, and complete?
