Meet Violet!

This adorable fluffy gal somehow ended up at a high-kill shelter in Houston. When her time was up, an amazing foster saw her plea for help and jumped in, saving her life. And thank goodness she did, because now we get to tell you about the best part: Violet herself.

Violet is just a sweet, gentle soul. I mean just look at her eyes. We think she is around seven years old, which we happen to think is pretty much the perfect age. She’s past the puppy chaos and has moved right into her calm, loving, cuddle-in-bed with you era.

We believe Violet spent most, if not all, of her life as an outdoor dog. Her body shows some of the wear from those years, but those days are officially behind her. Violet has discovered the wonderful world of air conditioning, soft beds, cozy blankets, and sleeping inside with her people and she is a big fan.

Because indoor life is still relatively new to her, she’s continuing to work on potty training. She isn’t quite 100% yet, but she’s doing well and getting better every day. She just needs a family willing to give her a little patience while she figures out this whole spoiled-house-dog thing.

Violet absolutely loves other dogs and is also good with cats, so she’d be perfectly happy sharing her forever home with furry siblings. She walks nicely on leash without pulling, rides well in the car, and still loves getting out and being included in adventures.

At around 58 pounds, she’s the perfect medium-sized fluffy gal. She probably isn’t looking to spend her weekends tackling 15 mile mountain hikes anymore, but walks around the neighborhood, little adventures, car rides, and then climbing into bed for a cuddle? Absolutely.

Violet’s ideal home is simply one with plenty of time for her and a more easygoing lifestyle. After spending so many years without the comforts every dog deserves, we want the rest of her life to be ridiculously good. Soft beds. Adventures. Lots of love. And a family who makes sure she never has to wonder where she belongs again.

She may be seven, but Violet has so many happy years ahead of her. We’d love nothing more than to make them her very best ones.
