Meet Marley!!
This beautiful girl somehow ended up on the euthanasia list at a local Houston shelter. She was terrified of the shelter environment, and after only a few days, she was added to the list. Thankfully, an amazing foster family stepped up, allowing us to take her into rescue. Now she's safe, decompressing, and finally getting the chance to show everyone who she really is.
And now onto the best part...Marley herself.
Marley is a total hoot. She can be a little scared when she first meets you, and its pretty clear that life hasn't always been kind to her. She flinches if you raise your hand too quickly, and new sounds and situations can make her nervous. But despite whatever happened in her past, Marley is nothing but sweetness and love.
Give her a little time to warm up, and suddenly you have the most loyal little shadow. Shell follow you from room to room, curl up beside you, and happily lay her head on your leg. She absolutely loves being with her people and would happily be included in everything you do.
Marley is also pretty much the full package. She is potty trained, kennel trained, walks well on a leash, and rides nicely in the car. She does great with other dogs and has also done well with kids. She even spent a weekend with a four-year-old and showed zero aggression. Because she can be nervous around loud noises and sudden movements, though, we think a home without tiny kiddos may be the best fit for her.
And then theres our favorite Marley quirk: she talks.
Need to go outside? Tiny howl.
Want you to play with her? Tiny howl.
See something weird and need you to explain what the heck it is? Tiny howl.
It is ridiculously adorable.
Marley is about 3-5 years old, 35 pounds, and medium energy—the perfect combination of adventure buddy and professional couch cuddler. Shed happily go hiking with you and then come home for a night of Netflix and chilling on the couch.
Her ideal family is one that has plenty of time for her and wants a dog who truly becomes part of their everything. Marley loves her people deeply and doesnt particularly enjoy being alone, so shed thrive with someone looking for a loyal little sidekick.
