Quartz was found as a stray and has officially decided that the outdoor cat life is wildly overrated.
She is more than ready to trade in uncertainty and survival for soft beds, easy meals, cozy naps, and a family of her very own. And honestly? She has excellent taste.
Quartz is a 1-year-old girl who has fully embraced the idea that indoor life is superior in every possible way. Food that appears on schedule? Water that is always available? Climate control? Blankets? Human attention on demand? Quartz would like to formally confirm that this arrangement is absolutely for her.
She loves attention and is more than happy to spend her days curled up in your lap, soaking up affection and enjoying the comforts of being someone’s beloved cat. If you are looking for a companion who genuinely wants to be close to her people, Quartz is ready to volunteer for the job.
When it comes to other cats, Quartz can be a little selective about her feline friendships. She may do well with the right cat and a proper introduction, but truthfully, a lot of that may simply be because she would much rather be focusing on what really matters — getting all the love from the humans. She would likely be perfectly content as your one and only feline queen, though she may also coexist with the right laid-back cat roommate.
Quartz does well with dogs and respectful children, which makes her a wonderful option for many homes. But wherever she lands, her ideal setup is one where she can enjoy the comforts of indoor life, plenty of affection, and a family who appreciates a cat that knows exactly what she wants.
After being found on her own, Quartz is more than ready for the next chapter — one where she never has to wonder where her next meal is coming from, where she will sleep, or whether anyone is coming for her.
Now she just needs the people who will make sure she never has to wonder again.
If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know
I tried the outdoor life, and I’m here to report that it is not nearly as glamorous as it sounds. I am very much in favor of indoor comforts, regular meals, soft beds, and being adored by my humans. I love attention, I love lap time, and I would be more than happy to make a full-time career out of being your favorite cat. I can be a little picky about other cats, but honestly, that’s mostly because I would rather be getting all the love myself. If you’re looking for a sweet girl who is fully committed to the indoor princess lifestyle, I’m ready.
Important Adoption Information and Next Steps:
All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:
Spayed or neutered
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipped prior to adoption
Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate).
Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment.
We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter.
Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.
To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.
After Submitting Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.
For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.
Keep in Mind:
We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
