Chacha is a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua who may be tiny in size, but she has a huge heart and a truly incredible spirit.
This little girl is a survivor, and she has seen far too much in her short life. She has been through more than any dog should ever have to experience, and yet somehow, Chacha has come through it all as one of the sweetest, most loving little dogs you could ever hope to meet.
Honestly, she is WAY nicer than anyone could reasonably expect after how she has been treated.
Chacha absolutely loves people. She is the definition of a people dog and wants nothing more than to be close to her humans at all times. She loves everyone she meets and makes friends instantly. In fact, when she sees someone she likes, she will come trotting right over, do her adorable little tippy taps on the floor, and the second you acknowledge her… over she goes, flipping right onto her back for belly rubs.
And if you are willing to pick her up and carry her around like the tiny baby princess she believes she is? Even better.
This sweet girl is house trained, crate trained, and does well on leash, though she honestly does not need much encouragement to stay close — Chacha simply wants to be wherever her people are. She is happiest when she is loved, included, and soaking up affection.
While Chacha loves humans with her whole heart, she can be nervous around other dogs and would do best in a home with no more than one other calm dog. A quieter environment where she can feel safe and secure will help her continue to thrive. What she really wants most is a family who will give her the love, comfort, and stability she has always deserved.
Chacha is the kind of dog who makes you want to protect her, spoil her, and promise her that the hard part is over.
This little girl deserves the absolute best life possible — soft beds, gentle hands, lots of belly rubs, and a family who understands just how special she is.
If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know
I am a tiny little dog with a very big love for people. I don’t ask for much — just belly rubs, cuddles, and preferably being carried around like the baby I know I am. I love meeting new people, and if you acknowledge me, there is a very good chance I will immediately roll over for tummy rubs. I can be a little nervous around other dogs, so I’d be happiest in a home where things are calm and I can really focus on loving my humans. If you want a sweet little shadow who will adore you with her whole heart, I’m ready.
Important Adoption Information and Next Steps:
All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:
Spayed or neutered
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipped prior to adoption
Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate).
Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment.
We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter.
Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.
To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.
After Submitting Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.
For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.
Keep in Mind:
We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
