Schuyler may be tiny, but this little kitten has already proven just how strong she is.
She came into the Oswego County SPCA on the very day we moved into our new office on Schuyler Street — badly injured and in desperate need of help. Her paw had suffered a serious injury, and it was clear she had been through far more than any tiny kitten should ever experience.
Thankfully, with veterinary care, time, and lots of love, Schuyler healed beautifully.
And now? You would never know she was ever hurt at all.
This fearless little girl approaches life with endless curiosity, confidence, and joy. Schuyler absolutely loves everyone and everything she meets. She adores her foster siblings — both feline and canine — and has absolutely no fear when it comes to exploring new places, meeting new friends, or involving herself in whatever activity is happening nearby.
She is playful, social, adventurous, and incredibly affectionate. Whether she is chasing toys, climbing around to investigate something new, snuggling with her foster siblings, or sprinting toward the sound of wet food being opened, Schuyler lives life to the fullest.
And speaking of wet food… this girl is a HUGE fan.
Schuyler’s rough beginning has not slowed her down even a little. In fact, she seems determined to make up for lost time by loving absolutely everything about being safe, cared for, and part of a family.
She is the kind of kitten who brings energy, joy, and laughter wherever she goes, and she is ready to find a forever home that will love her as much as she loves the world around her.
If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know
I had a pretty rough start to life, but honestly, I’m way too busy having fun now to dwell on that. I love everyone, everything, wet food, adventures, toys, and basically the entire concept of being alive. I’m brave, playful, curious, and always ready to make new friends. If you’re looking for a kitten who will jump into your life with her whole heart, I think we might be perfect together.
Important Adoption Information and Next Steps:
All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:
Spayed or neutered
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipped prior to adoption
Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate).
Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment.
We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter.
Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.
To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.
After Submitting Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.
For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.
Keep in Mind:
We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
