Muldoon is an 8-month-old survivor with a story that could have changed him — but instead, it revealed just how gentle and loving he truly is.

He came from a severe hoarding situation and was recently featured on WSYR as part of a story about the incredible cats who survived unimaginable conditions and are now looking for their forever homes. Muldoon is one of those cats, and he is ready for his next chapter.

Like many cats who have been through difficult circumstances, Muldoon can be a little shy at first. New surroundings and new people take a moment to adjust to. But once he realizes he is safe, his sweet personality shines through.

And when it does, it is something special.

Muldoon is affectionate, gentle, and eager to connect with people. He becomes a total love bug once he settles in, and he is ready to make up for lost time with a family who will show him patience and kindness.

He also has a small spot in his right eye. It does not slow him down or impact his ability to live a happy, healthy life. It is simply part of what makes Muldoon unique.

After everything he has endured, Muldoon is ready for a home where he can feel secure, loved, and truly cared for. He has already proven how resilient he is — now he just needs the people who will help him fully thrive.

If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know

I might be a little shy at first, but once I know I’m safe, I really love being around my people. I’m gentle, sweet, and ready to make up for the love I missed out on. I have a little spot in my eye, but it doesn’t bother me at all — it’s just part of me. If you give me a little time and patience, I promise I’ll show you just how much love I have to give.

Important Adoption Information and Next Steps:

All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:
Spayed or neutered
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipped prior to adoption
Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate).
Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment.
We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter.
Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.

To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.

After Submitting Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.

Keep in Mind:
We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
