Byrne is a handsome two-year-old orange tiger cat who got his name after being found abandoned at a Byrne Dairy gas station.

And honestly, Byrne feels that was rude enough already, but the fact that he apparently never even got to try the pizza before being dumped there? Truly unacceptable in his opinion.

Thankfully, Byrne’s story changed the moment he was rescued.

These days, Byrne has fully embraced indoor life and currently serves as the self-appointed Office Manager of his foster mom’s entire existence. He supervises daily activities, oversees productivity levels, and ensures proper attention is being directed toward him at all times.

As far as Byrne is concerned, this is a very important job.

Byrne absolutely adores his people and wants all the love in the world. He is affectionate, social, and happiest when he is involved in whatever his humans are doing. He loves companionship and is the kind of cat who wants to be near his people as much as possible.

He also has a very confident personality and is not shy about establishing himself as management. Because of this, Byrne would likely do best either as an only cat or with another strong, confident cat who will not be bothered by Byrne’s rapid promotion into leadership.

Despite being abandoned, Byrne has remained incredibly loving and people-focused. He has a big personality, a lot of charm, and the kind of goofy orange-cat energy that keeps life entertaining.

What Byrne wants most now is a forever home where he can continue doing what he does best: supervising his humans, soaking up affection, and living the safe, spoiled life he always deserved.

If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know

I take my management position very seriously. I like being involved in your day, supervising your activities, and making sure you are taking enough breaks to pet me. I love my people a lot and really just want to be included in everything. I may prefer being your main cat executive, but if another confident cat can handle my leadership style, we can probably work it out. Also, I would still like to know why nobody let me try the Byrne Dairy pizza.

Important Adoption Information and Next Steps:

All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:

Spayed or neutered
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipped prior to adoption
Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate).
Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment.
We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter.
Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.

To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.

After Submitting Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.

Keep in Mind:
We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.

ABOUT: TIGER CAT BREED

Tigers are majestic wild cats known for their distinct orange fur with black stripes, powerful build, and stealthy hunting abilities. As the largest of all cat species, tigers are solitary animals that primarily inhabit forests and grasslands in Asia. They are apex predators, preying on a variety of animals with their sharp claws and teeth. Sadly, many tiger subspecies are endangered due to habitat loss and poaching, highlighting the importance of conservation efforts to protect these magnificent creatures.
