Suzie is the kind of cat who seems determined to make up for every single moment of fun she missed out on earlier in life.
After surviving a truly horrible situation, Suzie has decided she is fully embracing the good life now — and that includes toys, games, zoomies, attention, and absolutely as much playtime as possible.
This girl is not shy about having fun.
Suzie is playful, affectionate, energetic, and incredibly sweet. She loves to run, chase toys, wrestle with her feline friends, and turn just about anything into a game. Now that she finally feels safe, her personality is absolutely blossoming, and it is impossible not to smile watching her discover how wonderful life can be.
She also has a spot in one eye, but it does not slow her down one bit. In fact, Suzie would probably be offended if anyone even suggested it might. She keeps right up with everything around her and approaches life with enthusiasm and confidence.
One of Suzie’s favorite companions is her best friend Gideon. The two loved cuddling, playing, and helping each other settle into foster care. While Suzie is far more outgoing, she has been a wonderful source of confidence and companionship for him.
Suzie is the perfect mix of silly, sweet, resilient, and loving. She has survived the hard part of life, and now she is ready for the fun part — a forever home where she can play, love, and finally just be a happy cat.
If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know
I take my playtime VERY seriously. Toys? Amazing. Running around the house? Incredible. Wrestling with cat friends? Sign me up. My whole life used to be about survival, so now that I know I’m safe, I’m making up for lost time by enjoying absolutely everything. I’m sweet, playful, affectionate, and ready to bring a whole lot of joy into someone’s life.
Important Adoption Information and Next Steps:
All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:
Spayed or neutered
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipped prior to adoption
Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate).
Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment.
We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter.
Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.
To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.
After Submitting Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.
For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.
Keep in Mind:
We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Please be patient with us — but if you do not hear back within a few days, feel free to message us on our Facebook page to confirm your application went through.
