Lainey Wilson was found as a stray in Fulton and transferred to us from the shelter, and she has made it very clear that she is ready to leave that chapter behind and fully embrace the good life.

This sweet girl is the kind of cat who makes taking photos almost impossible — not because she is shy, but because the second you so much as look at her, she comes trotting right over for attention. If that does not tell you everything you need to know about Lainey, we do not know what will.

Lainey is incredibly affectionate, snuggly, and full of personality. She loves people, loves attention, and seems to believe that if you are nearby, you should absolutely be petting her. She is the kind of cat who wants to be involved, wants to be close, and wants to make sure you know she is available for cuddles at all times.

She is also very vocal in the most charming way. Lainey chirps and chats while she explores, giving little commentary as she checks things out and makes herself right at home. She has a wonderfully expressive personality and the kind of sweet, social nature that makes people fall in love fast.

After being found on her own, Lainey is more than ready for a forever home where she will never have to wonder where her next meal is coming from or whether someone is coming back for her. If you look at me, there is a very good chance I am going to come running over for attention — and honestly, I think that is a pretty great quality. I love people, I love to snuggle, and I have lots to say while I explore. I’m a chirpy little sweetheart who is ready to be loved like I’ve always deserved. If you want a cat who will keep you company, make you smile, and happily insert herself into your personal space for cuddles, I am very prepared for that role.

All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:
Spayed or neutered
Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipped prior to adoption
Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate).
Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment.
We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter.
Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.

After Submitting Your Application:
Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

For Pets Already in the Home:
Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions. We also require that all resident pets be up to date on their vaccinations to help ensure that everyone — both new and existing family members — stays healthy and safe.

Keep in Mind:
We are 100 percent foster-based and 100 percent volunteer-operated, from the top down. Our team works hard to get animals into their forever homes as quickly as possible.
