Meet Lucinda, a delightful three-year-old Shih Tzu whose journey has been nothing short of a rescue miracle. After a kind Samaritan spotted her in a crowded Baton Rouge shelter and stepped in to ensure she stayed safe, this sweet girl made her way to us, and she has been winning hearts ever since. Lucinda is a playful soul who is exceptionally friendly with people, other dogs, cats, and children alike. While she does experience some anxiety when left alone and is currently a work-in-progress regarding her house-training skills, her affectionate nature and willingness to learn make her a wonderful companion. Because she thrives on human company, she would be happiest in a home where her owners work from home or are retired, allowing her to be the ultimate sidekick. Lucinda is already a turnkey addition to any family, arriving fully vetted with current vaccinations, a microchip, and a heartworm-negative status. With just a little bit of patience and a lot of love, she is sure to master those final training steps and become the perfect, loyal best friend you have been waiting for.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
