Jozie is one of those dogs.

Rescued from a rural shelter, Jozie hasn't let her past dim her bright spirit. Instead, she's embraced every new person she meets with a wagging tail, happy heart, and the kind of joyful personality that makes everyone feel like an old friend.

At 2 years old and 37 pounds, Jozie is the perfect size for just about any adventure. She's playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without being clingy, and always ready to brighten someone's day.

Jozie has a wonderful balance of fun and companionship. She's just as happy exploring the backyard or joining you on a walk as she is relaxing nearby after a day of adventures. Her easygoing, social personality makes her the kind of dog who quickly becomes everyone's favorite.

The only thing Jozie asks is that her forever home be cat-free. Cats simply aren't her thing, but she's more than happy to share her life with canine companions and humans alike.

After getting a second chance at life, Jozie is ready for the one thing she's always deserved: a family to call her own.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.

***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
