Meet Louis!

If you're looking for a little dog with a big personality, Louis is your guy! This handsome 1-year-old Cavalier Spaniel mix weighs 19 pounds and is packed full of charm, confidence, and enough spunk to keep life entertaining.

Louis absolutely adores his people and is happiest by your side, whether you're relaxing at home or out and about. He's already crate trained and potty trained, making him an easy addition to the right home.

Like any guy with strong opinions, Louis knows what he likes! He prefers canine friends his size or smaller and needs slow, proper introductions. Dogs bigger than him just aren't his cup of tea, and cats are a definite no-thank-you. Mealtime is also a solo affair-Louis prefers to enjoy his dinner without company.

He's still polishing a few manners, including learning that an open front door isn't an invitation to sprint through it. With consistency and a family committed to continuing his training, he'll keep making great progress.

Louis is a loyal little companion with a huge heart who's ready to find a family that appreciates his quirky personality and will love him for exactly who he is. If you're searching for a fun, affectionate sidekick who's equal parts sweetheart and character, Louis is waiting to meet you!

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.

***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures.
